Active Aging and Economic Growth: Shaping a Secure and Thriving Future for Societal Contributions

Authoritative reports highlight that society is aging, with the number of elderly people expected to rise significantly in the coming years. At the same time, we are witnessing a decline in fertility rates, which raises important questions about the future of both social structures and economic sustainability. However, this demographic shift also opens up new possibilities for redefining the role of the elderly. In this context, we propose models focused on active aging, where the elderly actively contribute to society and the economy, playing a key role in addressing the challenges posed by these demographic changes. Our findings show that grandparents can offer a valuable contribution to society, particularly through their involvement in childcare and other community activities. The elderly will continue to be important contributors in building a sustainable and prosperous future for all generations.
