Резюме на лекцията: The veneration of the Holy Spirit occupies a central place in the popular piety of the Azorean population. Originating in the Middle Ages on the mainland, it has been remarkably perpetuated to this day, with some variations from island to island. Significant emigration of Azoreans to North America and Brazil has allowed this tradition to spread and be preserved, but it has also brought about visible changes with the seasonal return of immigrants and the development of tourism.
