The workshop on 6G-VERSUS - Vertical Trials for Sustainability is organized under the general agreement between the New Bulgarian University and company A1 for cooperation and coordination of activities related to the education and research processes, including practical studies, internships, teaching, and advisory activities. 6G technology is under intensive research nowadays, and it has not implemented outside the labs yet. The workshop will discuss the possibility of technology validation in the real environment and the economic and social impact on the sustainability of the energy sector. The workshop will take place on the territory of the New Bulgarian University as well as online.

6G-VERSUS is an innovation project aiming to experiment and validate in a real environment the implementation of 6G technology in the energy sector of the Republic of Bulgaria (https://6g-versus.eu/). The consortium consists of 34 partners from Finland, Spain, Portugal, France, Luxembourg, the UK, Greece, Cyprus, and Italy, and all of them validate the 6G technology in different economic sectors and test the sustainability of the solutions. The validation in Bulgaria is with wind turbines and aims at optimizing the energy sector. Students and teachers will be introduced to the novel 6G solutions and how they are implemented in the pilot in Bulgaria. The aim is to collect feedback from students in informatics, telecommunications, and economics concerning the future of digitalization in the energy sector and implementation of 6G technologies for sustainability and optimization of the electricity production and consumption. The emphasis is on the interdisciplinary approach towards applications and societal impact on industries, workforce structure, and education.
